My work traces the origin of the domestication of cats, starting from Egypt and Asia, all the way to the geographically isolated island of Australia. The collection of images reveal changing perceptions of cats, transitioning from reverence, to fear, to finally adoration.
It was interesting to note that while wildcats have existed in the Americas, their representations in art is not as prominent as that of the African-Asiatic continent (excluding the portrayal of jaguars and other big cats).
